Attention Deficit Disorder is a neurological attribute shared at birth by all who meet its criteria. Most are identified early in elementary school by their teachers, parents, or pediatricians. But there are others who may go until entering college or beyond before they recognize the symptoms that they are experiencing could possibly be ADD..
These symptoms could include:
In recent years of evaluating adults with ADD, I came to recognize that its unique characteristics make it unlike traditional ADD in children. Those with adult ADD tend to learn the ability to compensate for their symptoms. They have relatively high intelligence and tend to be hard working people.
The process includes two evaluation sessions. The first session reviews the history of their family and their ADD. This is a diagnostic evaluation that is required before the formal ADD test. The second session is the formal ADD test. The results are then scored and included in a report that is sent to your medical professional.
Insurance companies do not cover ADD testing, therefore payment is expected at the initial evaluation. If you have any questions, please reach out to drmcvoyevaluations@outlook.com
